Happy Father's Day, Part 1

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddy's in our lives! We love you so much!

Yesterday was Nik's first Father's Day, and as much as I would like to say it was a relaxing day for him, I can't. He and a friend worked on tiling our back porch all weekend! It went from not really being utilized and kinda dirty, to an area that we can relax in and entertain. They did such a beautiful job:

For Nik's Father's Day gift, Kaileigh thought a photo calendar would be the best gift. She chose the very best pictures of her and her daddy, and arranged them in a calendar that he can look at and use all year long - and then keep for ever and ever!

Sorry for the wait...

Hey there everyone! Sorry it has been such a long time since our last post; it has been quite busy around here! First, we would like to thank you all for such a wonderful visit. It was so nice to see all of our great family and friends - we just wish that we had a longer visit! Chera's bridal shower was just beautiful and so fun! And the bachelorette party was too! So excited for the wedding!! Hopefully next time we come up, we will be able to spend more time with everyone! Once we got back from our trip, it took about a whole week to get us all back on schedule. (Not to mention all the cleaning, unpacking, and laundry that just happened to show up!)

A couple days after we returned, Kaileigh started on cereal for the first time! It was quite interesting; the food seemed to be a fun new toy for her to play with. It went in, it came out. It was in her fingers, up her nose, and acted as a gel for her spikey new hairdo! Since then, she has perfected her technique; cereal, peas, sweet potatos, and bananas have no problem being digested (as long as she can suck her thumb between each spoonful!)

Another development is our NEW pool! Oh yes, we have a pool! Considering it has been 95-102 degrees the past two weeks, it is a very welcome gift. Thank you to Nik's Grandma and Bill!! It is a pretty perfect size for us - 12ft around and about 2.5 feet deep. Just enough to cool off - Kaileigh really loves it!

And as you all probably know, Kaileigh was sick about a week ago. She had a high fever for a few days. She was lethargic and just not her normal self. We brought her to the doctors - where she got tested for EVERYTHING. Come to find out, it was just a virus. We were all very worried, since it was the first time she was sick. But not to worry, she is just perfect now. Whatever it was has passed! Thankfully.

Kaileigh will be five months old in just a couple of days! We can't believe it. She has gotten so big: 14 lbs, 1 oz!! Time is just flying by - and August will be here before we know it! Once we book the tickets, we will let you know the dates of our next visit!

Happy 16th Birthday Becky! We love and miss you so much! Can't wait to see you this week!! Hope your day was great! Kaileigh wore her Auntie Becky onsie just for you! This picture is more "Deer in the headlights," than "Happy Birthday Auntie." ... But we do what we can! LOVE YOU!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers who follow this blog! Today is my first official Mother's Day - and it feels wonderful. I can't imagine life without Kaileigh in it. She has made all my dreams come true and I never knew that being a mother could feel this great! I want to say thank you to every mother who has touched my life -especially my own. You have taught me so much - and I only hope to be as amazing a mother as you! I love you! Today Nik, Kaileigh and I took a picnic in the park. It was a beautiful day - but a little too hot for Kaileigh's taste. So, we came home and all took a nice nap!

Yesterday, we went over our friend's house for a cookout! It was a great evening. Kaileigh even took her first dip in the pool with Daddy! Our little water-bug loved it!

We love Grandma!

Grandma visited us this past week! It was so nice to see her and just spend some great quality time with her! Our visit was wonderful - but too short! Thankfully the weather was BEAUTIFUL and we were able to be outside and work on our garden! It was so nice, that even I planted some flowers and herbs! Kaileigh lounged outside with her sunhat and toys while all of us worked around her. Our little lady really loves it outside! We were also, finally, able to find some teeny-tiny bathing suits for Kaileigh! They are so SUPER cute and will be used a lot since summer down here is excruciatingly hot and lasts forever! Kaileigh loved spending time with her Grandma and is gearing up for our big visit home in 3 weeks!! It is going to be wonderful for her to meet her big family up in Massachusetts - so many people that love her! We are all very very very excited! Thank you Grandma, for a wonderful visit! We love and miss you already!

Aunties Aimee and Brenna Visit!!!

This weekend, Aimee and Brenna headed down from Southwick/Boston for a quick visit! It was their first time meeting Kaileigh - and I think they are a bit attached! It was a very mellow weekend, basically filled with playing with Kaileigh, eating, watching princess movies, and more eating! It was SO nice to see two of my bestest friends - made me realize how much I really do miss them. :( It won't be too long till we see them again, we will be home May 16-24!! (Thank you Chera and Eric!) The trip was wonderful and, as always, too short! Love and miss you ladies... ALWAYS! Thanks for EVERYTHING!
