We are growing!!

Kaileigh had her first doctor's appointment yesterday! She has grown so much already... bypassing her birthweight and weighing in at 6 lbs. 5 oz.!! We are so happy that this first week of hard work and stress is paying off and our little girl is happy and healthy!

We wanted to express a very sincere Thank you. to my mom, Denise. This past week has been a big learning experience, and mom has been there to help all along the way! We are so grateful to have all her love and support! Kaileigh, Nik, and I are lucky to have her!

Happy Birthday Kaileigh!!

It is hard to believe that Kaileigh is already one week old! She spends her days taking long, restful naps, eating gourmet, custom-made milk, and producing creative looking poopies!
What a life!

Snuggling in Daddy's arms is a favored pass-time!
So is playing dress-up with Mommy! Blue is totally my color!!

When you party like I do at night... old timers like Mommy have trouble keeping up!

Not too sure who likes the finger-holding better...
Daddy?... or Kaileigh?

"Peek-a-Boo!"

You would never think this little 5-pound wonder could be the source of so much love! With those beautiful eyes, pouty lips, and funny little faces, Kaileigh has become the center of our world! It is hard to remember what life was like before she came along.
Happy One Week Birthday Kaileigh!
We love you!

"A Whole New World..."

Nik and I have, very quickly, turned into "Daddy" and "Mommy!" And we love it! Our universe has flipped upside down - and we wouldn't change it for the world! Here are our most recent photos of our whole new world:

Nik and Kaileigh on our trip home from the hospital.
She really is already "Daddy's little girl!"
A very tired mommy...

Kaileigh loves her first sponge bath SO much! Too bad we can't include a sound byte...
this little one has a set of pipes on her!

Beautiful, big eyes....

Kaileigh Marie Savva!!!

At 5:30am on Monday the 12th, Jamie began 23 hours of laboring at home before we went to the hospital at about 4:30am Tuesday the 13th. After a total of 28.5 hours of laboring it only took about 30 minutes of pushing (thanks to Jamie's previous dance experience). Finally at 10:43am, our beautiful daughter was born! At a whopping 5 lbs 11 oz. and a lengthy 18.75 inches she is our little "peanut". Kaileigh has a lot of dark brown hair upon her head and dark eyes that will most likely turn brown (like her daddy's). She has very long skinny legs and a cute little tush. The only time she really cried was as soon as she came out, other then that all she has done are little whimpers here and there. Luckily, no real crying (yet). Nik was very brave in not only watching the birth but cutting the umbilical cord as well! Jamie, thankfully, didn't feel ANYTHING after she received her very welcomed epidural! Denise flew out Tuesday morning at 7am expecting to arrive at 10:30am. However, due to delays on the way down, she didn't arrive until just after the baby was born. She had to almost fight off a Nazi nurse to gain access to our labor room! All in all, the pain and suffering was worth the beautiful miracle we received: Kaileigh Marie Savva!

This is our little girl right after birth getting cleaned up by the nurses.
Another pic of our beautiful baby getting cleaned up.

"Our Family!"
Right after getting cleaned up and handed to the new mother how beautiful she looks.

And finally, the new daddy holding Kaileigh after a rough morning!

Stay tuned for more updates and pictures as we introduce Kaileigh to the world! ...

Any day now...

The room is set, the diapers purchased, clothes washed, and the monitors charged... we are ready! (we think) After a very exciting visit to our doctor, we could be expecting our little girl any day now!! We couldn't be more excited or more nervous! I guess all we can do now is wait and expect the unexpected!

Stay tuned for our exciting news...

ps. We want to wish our brother/brother-in-law, Christopher, the very best of luck in his upcoming deployment to Saudi Arabia! We will be thinking of you and missing you! Stay safe and know that we all love you very much! And when you get back, you will have to come meet your new niece!! xoxo

Let the sibling rivalry begin...

As we have been putting the finishing touches on preparing for the baby, our first "children" have been making thier presence known...

Calli thinks we bought this bouncy seat just for her!

And Bella, it totally ready to go for a ride in HER stroller!

"Mine"

Olivia looks oh, so cozy in the bouncy chair too!

98% of our baby stuff is locked away in the nursery - out of the kitty's domain. We are really trying to keep the cat hair to a minimum! However, the few items that won't fit apparently have already been claimed!

Let the sibling rivalry begin!
