Happy Birthday Nik!!!

Today was Nik's 26th birthday! Coincidentally, it is also our friend Fernando's birthday. We had a great hibachi dinner and then poker night! I made the cake... not too shabby if I do say so myself! Happy Birthday Nik!!!

Decorating the nursery!

We had our doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything is looking great! The baby has "flipped" - first sign that it is almost time!!! Even though we have a little over a month until our due date... that got me a little anxious to finish her room! Here are some pictures of our very productive day today:

Here's Daddy hanging shelves...
So far, he hasn't minded Mommy's nesting phase!

Our beautiful little crib... we just can't imagine how complete it will look with our daughter napping (or crying) in it!!

And the changing table corner... just think what interesting adventures we will have here!

And of course, our dresser. It is filled with a million "onesies" that look too small to possibly fit a human being!!!

Here's Daddy... ready and waiting for diaper duty!! "Bring it on..."

Mommy, looking bigger than ever! Oye!

He he he... So tiny!

Mommy and Daddy. The room looks so beautiful and peaceful! We hope she finds it just as lovely. So even though we do have a month more of waiting... at least the baby's room is ready to welcome her home!

ALABAMA!

Today is December 18th... Seven days until Christmas. I spent the entire day in my kitchen today making cookies for the family. Sounds like everyone, everywhere else right? WRONG! For the past three days it has been 80 degrees outside. We have our air conditioner running! There is definitely something wrong with this picture! Now I like warm weather just like the next guy... but c'mon! We are supposed to be snuggled by our fire, wearing hats and mittens, and anxiously awaiting Santa's visit. Instead we are sprawled under our fans, wearing shorts and tee shirts, and wondering if Santa has a different outfit to wear down here!! I know all of you are experiencing a Nor-Easter and expecting a very white Christmas... so I ask of you just one thing... think of me!! I am not complaining; I love our house very much, but perhaps if all of you wish it... we can enjoy at least a "cool" Christmas in Mobile, Alabama!

Kitty Time

So we figured we would dedicate one whole post to our kitties! We have a feeling that thier camera time is slowly dwindling... with the baby coming! So here they are:

Calli has an addiction to my heating pad... she spends ALL DAY on it! Life is tough and she needs to rest her aching parts!

Even though she is a fatso... Bella believes all boxes belong to her (whether she can fit or not.) Here she is enjoying an early Christmas present box sent by Grammy!

Olivia spends her time in one of two places... in the bathroom and under the tree. I think she believes we bought that just for her!
Calli made the mistake of telling the fattest cat (Bella) about her new discovery... the heating pad.

"Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree..."

It was perfect... we were decorating the tree and "Frosty the Snowman" came on the tv! It finally feels like Christmas!

Our tree is just so beautiful... it is hard to believe it was free... donated to us by the Coast Guard! (I was half expecting a Charlie Brown tree!) Hopefully the kittys don't decide to ambush this big new toy in their house!

We love Christmas!

Santa doesn't want to miss this house!

Ahh... So festive... we will be getting our tree tomorrow!

Decorating the new house for Christmas!

It is so nice to have a home of our own - especially during Christmas time. I love Christmas decorations and this year we have the added feature of a fireplace and mantle! Our little snowman theme is really taking off! Just think, next year there will be another little stocking hanging right there in the middle! We can't wait!
